According to CNN, sources said one person fell ill in November 2020 the day after the presidential election. The other illness occurred weeks later, according to the report.

In one of the instances, the illness was brought on while the official was walking through the White House gate, CNN reported.

The first official experienced weeklong symptoms that included a headache and sleeplessness, according to the report. The second case, which wasn't previously reported, occurred after the official walked through a White House gate, was more severe and required the official to seek immediate medical treatment, the report said.

The medical incidents were first reported among embassy staff in Cuba in 2016.

More than 130 incidents of the syndrome have been reported by US spies, diplomats, and defense officials, the Guardian reported. However, officials say publicity around Havana Syndrome may have led some to conflate unrelated conditions with the supposed ailmen
